Jeff Fabiszewski

Jeff Fabiszewski is an American Canoe Association certified kayak instructor residing in Pinellas County on the Gulf Coast of Florida.

Presently Jeff is a visiting instructor for H2Outfitters in Orr’s Island Maine, and a member of Team River Runner’s Tampa Chapter. Jeff has trained some of the Florida Ocean Kayak Fishing team on improving their paddling techniques.  Jeff’s knowledge and his natural enthusiasm earned him the teaching opportunity at the Sol y Luna Kayak Fishing School.  Sol y Luna was the first and only “On-the-Water” kayak fishing school of its kind in the country.  He also has freelanced as a writer, is proudly sponsored by Tuktu Paddles, donates to the Wounded Warrior Project, and Extremity Games.

Jeff Fabiszewski’s passion for kayaking began when he moved to Clearwater, FL. Gone were the backpacking and mountainous hiking trails that he grew up with as a Boy Scout in Pittsburgh, Pa. Many of the nature trails that led to unique destinations in Florida were under water.  The discovery of the kayak during his Wood Badge Training and his memory of canoeing with his Dad began Jeff, in 2001, on a meandering trail up the creeks, streams, rivers, and out to tranquil islands within Florida.

Upon entering a BA, program at Eckerd College Jeff’s curiosity of the history of kayaking flourished.  He majored in history with a focus towards indigenous studies; moreover, Jeff minored in anthropology and American studies while a student at Eckerd College to satisfy his craving of knowledge.  After graduation, Jeff Fabiszewski acquired the Stillwater nickname when friends learned that he plans to pursue a PhD in Theology.  “Under that calm smile exists pashion…”

Jeff’s quest of knowledge and its practical application is evident in everything that he does.  He has an innate ability to inspire a relaxing enthusiasm for kayaking that stays with his students.  He is the volunteer Community Resource Director of Team River Runner’s Tampa Chapter.  And partner of Liquid Rhythm Kayaking, Inc.  in Clearwater, Florida.  Jeff’s passion makes him a well-known guide, coach, and lead instructor in Tampa Bay Florida.

Jeffrey brings forth confidence in his students to improve their skills and discover their own relaxed fluid movement on the water.  As an ACA certified Level III, Basic Coastal Kayak Instructor of Strokes and Rescues, a member of the BCU and of Qajaq USA, and holder of the Traditional Qajaq Skills Endorsement, it becomes clear to why he is able to enhance the paddling skills of his students.

Frequently you may find him on those liquid meandering trails using 4,000-year-old paddle technology, which is a product of his primal love for traditional Greenland Qajaq paddling.  Tuktu Paddles designs Jeff’s hand carved wood paddles.  One of his paddles looks like a two-by-four stick of wood; where as the other paddle is of an Alaskan Tlingit style.  It is a single blade paddle with a raven painted on it.

These things have gained him the opportunity of being a guest guide, instructor, and writer for several shops, kayak schools, and publications in Florida.  Consequently, Jeff Fabiszewski is quickly becoming a well-respected Florida paddler.
